american glory cruise ship

With a capacity for just 100 guests, American Glory boasts 4 decks and features a new catamaran bow. The small ship offers elegant interior design, private balcony accommodations, including spacious Single and Double-occupancy staterooms and Suites. American Glory also includes a scenic top deck, comfortable lounges indoors and outdoors, a main restaurant, casual cafe, and a gym. The boat offers the most modern and unique small ship cruising as each of the visited ports gives a glimpse into the US cultural heritage. The country-club onboard atmosphere allows passengers to relax and enjoy fellow travellers' company, as well as to share interests in American history. The public lounges and observation decks are spacious and frequented by those who wish to meet and mingle with new friends.

AAC Window Stateroom

Deck 5's SkyLight is a transparent glass-roof that allows natural light into the Vestibule/Atrium. American Glory is set to embark on her inaugural cruise from Maryland to Florida on November 28, commencing operations for American’s new Florida Gulf Coast & Keys cruises from late December into the new year. Apart from the Florida itinerary, American Glory will navigate various U.S. itineraries along the East Coast in 2024, providing a blend of luxury river cruising and the adventure of expedition cruising, all within U.S. ports of call. The ship has only one handicapped stateroom (category AAM balcony cabin #210, located midship-starboard on Deck 2). The cabin is wheelchair-accessible (for disabled passengers), with two separate beds, a convenient near-lift location, and is ADA-compliant. The stateroom is designed with larger doors (entry and bath) and turning spaces, and a larger bathroom (fitted with a raised toilet seat with arms).

American Glory Deck Plans Offer Modern Amenities, Swim Deck with Kayaks

The American Glory is the newest ship in American’s ongoing series of 12 new Coastal Cats for exploring U.S. waterways. Additional ships in the series are already under construction, with the next two scheduled for delivery in 2024. The Coastal Cats, like American Glory, reaffirm ACL’s commitment to exploring the coastal regions of the United States, from Alaska to Florida and everywhere in between. In 2024 it will offer the seven-night Cape Codder itinerary, round-trip from Boston.

The new fleet has been designed to sail in all types of water; small enough for New England harbors, stable enough for the Alaska Inside Passage and with a draft shallow enough for the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. American Glory will sail on the East Coast and the rest of the fleet will be deployed across the U.S. All of the ships are being constructed by the line's sister shipyard, Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Maryland. In January 2022 ACL announced a plan to grow its fleet to 25+ vessels by adding 12 units of a new class (Project Blue), each with max passenger capacity 109 (plus 50 crew/staff), length 241 ft (74 m), beam/width 56 ft (17 m), 56 staterooms (~85% balconies). The first two boats (American Glory and American Eagle) were scheduled for inaugurations in 2023.

ACL-American Cruise Lines offers itineraries leaving roundtrip from Washington DC

Throughout 2024 and 2025, American Glory and her sisterships will operate various itineraries exploring the East Coast from Maine to Florida. American Glory's christening follows the August 2023 christening of the series flagship, American Eagle, in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. American Glory will continue her Florida Gulf Coast & Keys cruises through March 2024 and later in November and December. Another sister ship, American Legend, is set to join American Glory later in the year, also offering Florida Gulf Coast & Keys cruises starting in November. The celebration included various attendees such as local dignitaries, community members, cruise guests, and port and marina officials. Charles B. Robertson, President & CEO of American Cruise Lines, delivered remarks and introduced the Honorable Teri Johnston, Mayor of Key West, as the Godmother of American Glory.

Each room has all the same amenities as our double occupancy staterooms, including a floor-to-ceiling glass door leading to a full-size private balcony with a table and chairs. Triple glass panels extending from floor to ceiling have made the Sky Suite one of our most popular room categories. These exceptionally large 470-square-foot rooms include a spacious private balcony with a table and chairs, as well as plenty of interior space to make yourself at home. Each suite has a seating area facing a 54” inch led TV, counterspace with replenished treats, and a stocked refrigerator.

Shipboard facilities and amenities

American Glory has a Library Lounge, putting green, fitness, sunshade and lifts (serving all decks). American Glory blends the best qualities of expedition adventure cruising with the refinement, luxury, stability, and land proximity of river cruising. Observation and sitting areas will be available at the bow, while a unique Swim/Activity Platform at the stern of the ship features kayaks and a tender for local exploration. The shallow draft of the vessels allow rare access into small ports and ability to travel on almost any river or waterway. The 100-guest American Glory blends the best qualities of expedition adventure cruising with the refinement, luxury, stability, and land proximity of river cruising.

Because of their smaller sizes, ACL ships can visit smaller ports to offer their guests exceptional tours to little-known scenic sites and important historic places in the USA. Life Onboard A typical day will include an informal breakfast with your fellow guests, an exploration ashore with experienced guides followed by time cruising. The atmosphere onboard is very relaxed with the emphasis on discovery and enjoying time spent with like-minded travellers.

Additional amenities in each Grand Suite include an oversized double wardrobe, underbed suitcase storage, drawer and cabinet space, writing desk, plush robes, safe, and complimentary WiFi. AAM rooms are introductory balcony rooms with 310 square feet of space and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors for sweeping views. Each room has an interior seating area, as well as a private balcony with a table and chairs. AAM rooms have large bathroom, wardrobe, ample drawer storage, under bed suitcase storage, 54” inch led TV, writing desk, safe, and complimentary WiFi. Amenities in your cabin include complimentary Wi-Fi, satellite television and DVD player, individual climate control, writing desk and stationery, hairdryer, spacious wardrobe, four-drawer chest and bedside table.

Onboard local experts and historians will enhance your knowledge of the places you are visiting. Through informal lectures, open discussions and activities, they bring local history, nature and culture alive with their knowledge and passion for American heritage. In addition a dedicated Noble Caledonia escort will be onboard to ensure your cruise runs smoothly and is as enjoyable as possible. As the only 100% USA-flagged fleet of riverboats and small cruise ships globally, ACL continues its annual expansion with innovative designs for small-sized vessels. The scuttling was actually celebrated as the vessel became part of an artificial reef project promoted by the Delaware State's Government.

The large sun deck offers an area under shade, ample deck furniture and a putting green. There is also a lift onboard which serves all decks and the vessel features the latest navigation and safety equipment. The modern interior offers an unprecedented level of comfort and elegance and evokes a sense of pride and appreciation for U.S. history. The choice of color palettes, furnishings, and artwork envelops guests in a serene and relaxing atmosphere.

The boat was seaworthy and compliant with the USA's PVSA (Passenger Vessel Services Act of 1886) which allowed it to transport passengers between US ports directly (without visiting a foreign seaport along the current itinerary). Dubbed the “Coastal Cats”, American Glory and sister-ship American Eagle are part of a newbuild program that could see up to 12 similar vessels enter service for American Cruise Lines over the next few years. Two additional vessels are due to enter service for American Cruise Lines in 2024. There is a main dining room and cafe and, notably for a small ship, the option for room service. The hub of the vessel is the panoramic forward lounge on Deck 2, and there is also a smaller lounge next to the cafe on Deck 3. 15-day / 14-night "East Coast Inland Passage Cruise" (visiting 15 ports) is a one-way itinerary operated between homeports Baltimore MD and Jacksonville/Amelia Island FL.
